Georgia safety Dan Jackson ejected from Texas game for targeting

AUSTIN, Texas — Georgia football safety Dan Jackson was ejected from the Bulldogs’ game with Texas Saturday on a targeting call in the fourth quarter

Jackson lowered his head and appeared to hit the side of the helmet or shoulder of Matthew Golden on a 19-yard completion with 11:48 to go and Georgia leading 30-15.

Jackson must sit out the first half of Georgia’s next game against Florida on Nov. 2 for the targeting call.

Freshman safety KJ Bolden stepped in for Jackson.

Georgia nickel back Joenel Aguero was also ejected for a targeting call with under seven minutes remaining.

What are Georgia football Dan Jackson's statistics?

Jackson had six tackles, all solo in the game. The senior entered the game second on the team with 31 tackles and an interception.

Bolden, a former five-star out of Buford, has played extensively. He had 21 tackles and a sack entering the day.
