Former Patriots QB re-signs to Ravens' practice squad after release
The Baltimore Ravens cut several players on Tuesday afternoon, including wide receiver Malik Cunningham. However, on Wednesday, it was reported that Cunningham had re-signed to the Ravens' practice squad.
Cunningham signed with the Patriots initially as an undrafted quarterback in 2023. Things didn't work out for him at quarterback, and the team tried to work him in as a receiver.
He was eventually signed off the Patriots' practice squad and reunited with his former Louisville teammate Lamar Jackson in Baltimore. He appeared in one game for Baltimore in 2023 before making the switch to wide receiver in the 2024 offseason.
Cunningham also only played in one game for New England, and he did not record any pass attempts. Nevertheless, he was a fan-favorite, and fans pushed back on his release on social media.
The Ravens are also re-signing WR Malik Cunningham to the practice squad, sources confirmed. Cunningham made the transition to receiver this offseason.

Cunningham’s versatility and athletic ability could allow him to latch onto another NFL team for the upcoming season.
He showed his dual-threat ability at the collegiate level for Louisville, and he was able to flash it at times for the Patriots during the preseason last year. Perhaps he can find that same spark again at some point.
