Florida State football picked to repeat as 2024 ACC champions in preseason media poll

Florida State football is the team to beat in 2024.

The ACC released its media poll on Wednesday afternoon, and defending conference champion FSU was again picked to win the title.

The Seminoles led all teams with 81 first-place votes and 2,708 points in a poll taken last week during the ACC Kickoff in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Clemson trailed FSU with 55 first-place votes. Miami was third with 17.

SMU - one of three newcomers to the conference this year - was the highest ranked at No. 7. Cal was projected to finish 10th and Stanford last at No. 17.

FSU went to 13-0 in the regular season last year and finished 13-1.

The Seminoles defeated Louisville to win their 16th ACC Championship, marking the most ACC titles since joining the conference. It was also FSU's first conference title since 2014.

Despite its resume, the Seminoles missed out on the College Football Playoff and suffered their first loss of the year to Georgia in the Capital One Orange Bowl.

FSU returned 10 starters from last year and added 10 more players from the transfer portal, including quarterback DJ Uiagalelei.

The Seminoles kick off the season in Dublin, Ireland against Georgia Tech during the Aer-Lingus College Football Classic. The Week 0 game will be televised on ESPN at noon.
