Fayette County's Will Jackson scores 24 points to lead Tuscaloosa-area top performers
Here are the Tuscaloosa area high school basketball top performers from the week of Jan. 8.
Boys basketball
Central's Javion Taylor scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds in a 50-35 loss to Northridge. King Larkin added nine points and five rebounds.
Fayette County's Will Jackson led the team with 24 points and three steals in a 63-53 win over Gordo. Tucker Whitley scored 12 points to go with six rebounds and four assists, while Isaiah Estep added 11 points and eight rebounds and Max McDonald grabbed 10 rebounds.
Gordo's Cam Lark put up 16 points and grabbed six rebounds in the 63-53 loss to Fayette County. Joshua Wilder added eight points and brought down 10 rebounds.
Holy Spirit's Joseph Jones had 15 points to go with 10 rebounds in a 56-53 win over Oak Grove. CJ Thompson added 12 points while Ethan Ryan added 10.
Holy Spirit's CJ Thompson led the team with 26 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals in a 71-60 loss to South Lamar. Joseph Jones added 12 points to go with 13 rebounds and two assists.
Northridge's Jordan Suiter led the Jaguars with 14 points followed by John Walker with 12 in a 50-35 win over Central.
Northridge's Anderson Wilkin scored a game-high 15 points in the 51-45 win over Class 6A No. 3 ranked Helena. John Walker added 10 points while Jordan Suiter added nine.
Sulligent's Hunter Wood put up 20 points to go with 13 rebounds and seven blocks in the 70-38 win over South Lamar.
Tuscaloosa Academy's William Mullin led the Knights with 15 points in the 51-44 win over Francis Marion. Danilo Stojakovic added 10 points and Ellis Hamiter added nine to go with five assists.
Tuscaloosa County's Sheldrick McNeal Jr. put up 17 points to go with nine rebounds in a 50-44 loss to Vestavia Hills.

Girls basketball
Gordo's Sky Latham put up 21 points to go with 14 rebounds and 10 steals in a 45-33 win over Tuscaloosa Academy. India Sanders added eight points, and Makaliah Latham added six points to go with nine rebounds.
Gordo's Sky Latham scored 14 points to go with 18 rebounds and two blocks in a 40-39 overtime win over Fayette County, while Camryn O'Bryant added 12 points to go with eight rebounds.
Gordo's Sky Latham led the team with 37 points along with 10 rebounds and 10 steals in the 60-57 overtime win versus Winfield. Mylijah Latham added eight and Makailah Latham added five.
Hillcrest's Sinaya Gibson had 17 points to go with 10 rebounds in a 64-24 win over Sipsey Valley, while Destiny Smith added eight points of her own.
Holy Spirit's Genesis Lee scored 14 points to go with five steals in a 51-37 loss to Oak Grove, while Chloe Moore added five points and three steals.
Holy Spirit's Izzy Burrows put up 12 points to go with six rebounds, five assists and four steals in a 58-29 win over South Lamar. Berkley Young added 14 points while Genesis Lee added nine points and 10 steals.
Northridge's Jakeya Horton and Ryan Bardenwerper were named co-players of the game in a 68-60 win over Central, with Horton scoring 22 points to go with 10 rebounds and Bardenwerper adding 22 points. Tremyah Washington also added eight points and 10 rebounds.
Northridge's Ryan Bardenwerper put up 20 points in the 47-38 win over Helena. Jakeya Horton added a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Sulligent's Ella Wheeler scored 35 points to go with four rebounds, three steals and two assists in the 51-40 win over Marion County.
