Brookwood announces Chris Foster as new head football coach
Brookwood announced Chris Foster as its new head football coach on Monday night.
Foster, a Brookwood native, returns to his alma mater after spending five seasons as the head coach at Priceville. While leading the Bulldogs program, Foster acquired a 40-18 record along with three straight playoff appearances. Previous to his time at Priceville, Foster served as the offensive coordinator at Brookwood for four seasons.
"Our search for a new head football coach began on November 6," Brookwood principal Kellie Hubbard said. "With well over 100 applicants, finding the next leader of our football program was a process that I took very seriously. ... With a proven track record and passion for the game coach Foster will bring a fresh perspective of high expectations and accountability. I have no doubt that he is ready to lead out program."
Foster becomes the 33rd football coach in Brookwood history and replaces previous coach Mike Bramblett, who led the Panthers program for four seasons and went 12-38. Foster will be looking to turn around a Brookwood program that has not made the playoffs since 2011. He made his vision for the Brookwood program clear on Monday night.
"For me, what I would like to see is our school taking on the blue-collar mentality that our community has," Foster said. "Which means that we are going to work hard, we are going to be disciplined, and we also are going to focus on the small things to make things right. Additionally, the goal each Friday night is for our football team to be the most physical team that our opponents play."
Foster also said that he and his staff will focus on developing players, not just their athletic abilities, but also develop their character, core values and academics. As far as his slogan for the program, he will carry over the same slogan he used as Priceville — "Find A Way."

"I'm bringing it with me here because I think it fits our players and fits our community," he said. "For football players and our community I've always felt like it's really easy to make excuses on why things should or shouldn't work, and our program is not going to be about excuses. We're going to be about finding a way, and "Find A Way" is the slogan I like to use, and we need your help, we are going to need to find a way together."
