Vote now for your Tuscaloosa area girls athlete of the week, for the week of Jan. 5
It is time to vote for the girls athlete of the week from the Tuscaloosa area for the week of Jan. 5. The vote will remain open until Friday at noon.
All five nominees come from performances last week. All sports are considered when picking nominees, as long as the athlete was on The Tuscaloosa News' top performer list from the week before.
In alphabetical order, the nominees are:
Izzy Burrows, Holy Spirit, put up 21 points and 10 rebounds in the 55-25 win over Holt
Aaliyah Golston, Central, put up 19 points and brought down 12 rebounds in the 49-25 win over Francis Marion. She was also recently honored for reaching 1,000-career points
Jakeya Horton, Northridge, scored a team-high 21 points in the 57-51 loss to Hale County
Breonna Walker, Tuscaloosa County, put up 12 points in the 46-23 win over Spain Park
Kate Wilkins, Pickens Academy, celebrated scoring 1,000-career points
