Falcons sign former third-round pick to final roster spot
The Atlanta Falcons have finally filled their last open roster spot, signing veteran offensive tackle Brandon Parker on Tuesday. The former third-round pick spent the past six seasons with the Raiders. Parker has 33 starts under his belt but only appeared in five games (one start) for Las Vegas in 2023.
The 28-year-old signed with the San Francisco 49ers over the 2024 offseason but was released last week. In 2023, Parker earned a Pro Football Focus grade of 57.4. The Falcons still had a roster spot available from the Taylor Heinicke trade.
Some speculated that a bigger move was on the horizon after the team restructured safety Jessie Bates III's contract to free up over $7 million, per Spotrac. However, Parker is an experienced veteran and gives the team some depth at left tackle behind Jake Matthews.
Check out the team's updated 53-man roster and 16-man practice squad entering Monday's prime-time matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
