The Atlanta Falcons set their initial 53-man roster on Tuesday before trading quarterback Taylor Heinicke to the Los Angeles Chargers the following evening. Since the team got a conditional seventh-round pick in return, Atlanta still has an open roster spot to fill before the season begins next week.
The Falcons could sign another quarterback or upgrade at wide receiver. As for the practice squad, the team has filled all 16 practice squad spots while carrying a 17th member, Kenny Oginni, as part of the NFL's International Player program.
