The Atlanta Falcons suffered an 18-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Sunday's season opener. Quarterback Justin Fields and running back Najee Harris kept the chains moving for the Steelers all afternoon, giving Arthur Smith revenge against the team he coached for the last three years.

While the Falcons may have entered Week 1 as the healthier, more dynamic team on paper, they couldn't match Pittsburgh's physicality and folded when it was time to rise up. Atlanta turned the ball over three times and blew a game in which the opponent was held without a touchdown.

There were some positives on defense and the offense showed some flashes, but it was another Week 1 game that Falcons fans will attempt to forget. Check out our studs and duds from Sunday's loss to the Steelers below:

STUD: WR Ray-Ray McCloud

Ray-Ray McCloud was one of the few bright spots in Atlanta's underwhelming opener. The former 49ers wide receiver led the team with 52 receiving yards on four catches (13.0 yards per reception). McCloud averaged 28 yards on two kick returns Sunday and appeared to be Kirk Cousins' most trusted weapon at times. It was not a great day for the Falcons' wide receivers -- Drake London and Darnell Mooney combined for 30 total yards -- but McCloud had a nice debut for Atlanta.

DUD: QB Kirk Cousins

Cousins was brought to Atlanta to be the missing piece but he didn't appear game ready in Week 1. While he's never been known for his mobility, Cousins lacked a feel for the pocket and seemed to panic under pressure at times. The Falcons operated almost exclusively out of the pistol and shotgun formations (96 percent of their offensive snaps). Perhaps this could be a sign that Cousins is still dealing with his Achilles injury from last season. Head coach Raheem Morris values health over preseason playing time, but Cousins certainly looked rusty in his debut. The veteran QB passed for 155 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

DUD: RT Kaleb McGary

The Falcons' offensive line play was inconsistent overall, but Kaleb McGary especially seemed to struggle with the team's lack of plays from under center. McGary also drew the unfortunate task of playing against Steelers superstar T.J. Watt. Pressure off the edge was frequent and Atlanta struggled to adjust. Offensive coordinator Zac Robinson probably deserves some blame here as well. Pittsburgh managed seven QB hits on Kirk Cousins, with Watt accounting for three of them. Atlanta allowed two sacks and three tackles for a loss in Week 1.

STUD: DT Grady Jarrett

Grady Jarrett might be the unluckiest Falcons player in recent history. Over his 10 NFL seasons, he's done some of his best work when the rest of the team was underperforming. Sunday's game was just a typical day at the office for the veteran defensive lineman. Jarrett led the team with 1.5 sacks and helped get some key stops in the second half. Atlanta's defense didn't allow a touchdown and that would be good enough to win most days. As team reporter Tori McElhaney pointed out, Jarrett's performance in Week 1 helped him become the franchise's all-time leader in QB hits. Not bad for a player coming off a serious knee injury.
