Will DJ Uiagalelei play vs Clemson? Florida State depth chart raises questions at QB
Clemson football's reunion game against quarterback DJ Uiagalelei could potentially be on pause.
Florida State football on Monday released its depth chart ahead of Saturday's game at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida. One of the several changes to the depth chart for the Seminoles (1-4, 1-3 ACC) included Uiagalelei being listed as a starter with the "or" tag along with redshirt freshman Brock Glenn.

FSU added Uiagalelei from the transfer portal following a single season with Oregon State. Uiagalelei previously played for Clemson before his transfer to play for the Beavers. His first season in Tallahassee has been a struggle, as the Seminoles opened the season ranked No. 10 in the US LBM Coaches Poll before losing four of their five games to open the season.
Uiagalelei has completed just 84 of 156 of his passes (53.8%) for 1,065 yards, four touchdowns and six interceptions in five games this season. In a 42-16 loss to SMU on Saturday, he completed just 40% of his passes for 222 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions, including a pick-six. Uiagalelei was benched in favor of Glenn late in the game.
When Glenn was in the game, Uiagalelei appeared to get his hand checked out on the sideline. He did not return to the game, and Florida State coach Mike Norvell indicated in his weekly news conference on Monday that Uiagalelei is working through an injury.
Mike Norvell on QB's:
"DJ has something we are going to evaluate over the course of the week."
"We will see how it goes from there."
Norvell said DJU is dealing with an injury and he'll see how both QB's will look this week in practice when making his decision for Sat.— Liam Rooney (@__liamrooney) September 30, 2024
Glenn has made two career starts, both of which came last season. He started the ACC championship game against Louisville and the Orange Bowl against Georgia. Glenn did not complete any of his four passes on Saturday. On the season, he has completed 19 of 55 passes (34.5%) for 229 yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions for his career.
According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Uiagalelei was the No. 10 overall recruit in the 2020 recruiting class, a major addition for Dabo Swinney. He played for Clemson from 2020-22 before transferring to Oregon State ahead of the 2023 college football season.
