Detroit Tigers are currently battling for 2024 MLB playoff seeding in the American League, hosting the Chicago White Sox (live updates) on Sunday in the regular-season finale at Comerica Park in Detroit.

The Tigers on Friday clinched a playoff berth to snap a nine-season drought, but have seeding to play for: win and they are the No. 5 seed traveling to face the Baltimore Orioles in the wild-card round best-of-three series. The No. 1 seed New York Yankees await the winner in the ALDS.

If the Tigers lose and Kansas City Royals defeat the Atlanta Braves, the Tigers fall to the No. 6 seed and would face the Houston Astros. The No. 2 seed Cleveland Guardians await the winner on that side of the bracket.
