Detroit Tigers have 2 players ranked among MLB Pipeline's top 10 prospects

MLB Pipeline this week revealed its updated top 100 rankings of baseball's top prospects, and two Detroit Tigers jumped into the top 10 late in the summer.

Outfielder Max Clark, the Tigers' 2023 first-round pick, is the No. 7 prospect on MLB Pipeline's ranking, and right-handed starter Jackson Jobe, the team's 2021 first-rounder, is No. 8. Both were the third overall pick in their respective draft.

West Michigan (High-A) infielder Kevin McGonigle was not ranked in the previous edition in January, but is now at No. 33, and Tigers rookie league shortstop Bryce Rainer, their 2024 first-round pick, is ranked No. 61. Toledo (Triple-A) infielder Jace Jung slid four spots to No. 64.

McGonigle just suffered a fractured hand and his season is likely finished. He hit .309 with five home runs in 74 games for Low-A Lakeland (60 games) and the Whitecaps (14 games).

The Tigers in January's preseason edition had four players in MLB Pipeline's top 100: Clark (No. 13), infielder Colt Keith (No. 22), Jobe (No. 25) and Jung (No. 60).
