Detroit Lions put clinic on Dallas Cowboys but Aidan Hutchinson injury mars 47-9 beatdown

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Detroit Lions took advantage of the decimated Dallas Cowboys defense and turned in their most complete performance of the season Sunday afternoon.

David Montgomery ran for two first-half scores, Jared Goff threw three touchdown passes and Brian Branch twice intercepted Dak Prescott in a Lions 47-9 domination of the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. The defense forced five Cowboys turnovers.

But the game was marred by Aidan Hutchinson's gruesome left leg injury suffered early in the third quarter.

The Lions have scored at least 40 points in consecutive games for the first time since 1962.

Jahmyr Gibbs and Montgomery are the first running back duo in NFL history to each produce 70 or more scrimmage yards in each of the first five games of a season.
