Details on the DUI, reckless driving arrest of Georgia football RB Trevor Etienne
Athens-Clarke County police arrested Georgia football running back Trevor Etienne early Sunday morning after police spotted a 2024 RS7 Audi sedan driving recklessly on South Milledge Avenue, and traveling from 80 to 90 miles per hour on a 50 MPH road, according to a police incident report obtained Tuesday.
The transfer from Florida, who police said is 19, was pulled over after 1:50 a.m. Sunday while driving home after drinking, according to the report. Police said Etienne's eyes were glossed over and his speech was slurred and he swayed "back and forth while standing on flat ground."
Etienne was charged with DUI alcohol less safe, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane/improper driving on road and affixing materials that reduce visibility of windows for tinting of 4 percent. All are misdemeanors.
He did not consent to a field sobriety test, but "based on Etienne's driving behavior (making maneuvers with poor and reckless judgment), his physical demeanor, and statements in which he admitted drinking three beers downtown, I arrested him for DUI-Alcohol Less safe and three other charges," the report said.

Police said Etienne's Audi was spotted traveling southbound and breaking hard, causing its tires to screech at a traffic light, according to the incident report.
He later passed another vehicle on a blind curve near near Will Hunter Road, near the UGA soccer/softball complex, passing over a double yellow line and then passed another vehicle before the crest of a hill over double lines again. He then accelerated to high speed onto Golf Course Road over the yellow median and passed by parked vehicles in front of the "Retreat," apartment complex, police said.
When police made contact with Etienne, he asked them to follow him to his residence. He was asked for his ID and after looking for a minute, showed police his car key.
Etienne told police he had come from downtown but had "not too much," to drink. He told police he had three beers "way earlier."
The Audi RS7 Etienne was driving has a starting price of $127,800.
Etienne was booked into the Clarke County Jail on Sunday morning and was held for less than an hour before posting bonds totaling $1,883.
Etienne was in position to be Georgia’s starting running back after rushing for 1,472 yards and 15 touchdowns in two seasons with the Gators.
Etienne could be facing a one-game suspension under Georgia athletic policy for a DUI. Georgia opens the season against Clemson in Atlanta on Aug. 31.
"We are aware of the charges and are currently in the process of gathering information," executive athletic director Steven Drummond said Sunday. "This is a pending legal matter and will not have further comment at this time."
