What is Dave Doeren’s salary, buyout as NC State football coach?

N.C. State coach Dave Doeren makes nearly $6 million in total as the 36th highest-paid coach in college football, according to USA TODAY Sports’ annual review of coaching compensation.

Breaking down the salary information calculated by Steve Berkowitz and USA TODAY Sports, Doeren brings in $5,965,377, with max bonuses of up to $1.35 million.

Doeren, who is in 12th season with the Wolfpack, has been paid $250,000 in bonuses for the 2023-24 school year.

College Football Coaching Salaries

N.C. State has a 3-4 record this season, including an 0-3 record in the ACC. Doeren, the program’s all-time wins leader, is the first coach in program history to lead the Wolfpack to at least eight wins in four straight seasons.

In April, Doeren agreed to a contract extension through the 2029 season. As of December 1, 2024, Doeren’s buyout is $15,709,416 in the event he’s fired without cause.
