Cordarrelle Patterson recruits Raiders WR Davante Adams to Steelers
Update: Davante Adams has requested a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders.
With Brandon Aiyuk firmly in the rearview, the saga of who the next Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver trade target will be has begun with Las Vegas Raiders' Davante Adams.
Vinny Bonsignore, Raiders beat writer for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, tweeted on Tuesday afternoon that the club was contacting teams to "gauge interest" in Adams.
This after Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce liked an Instagram post hinting that Adams, 31, may have played his last snap in Vegas.
"Social media is a beast, so there's a lot of people out there that saw it and wondering what's going on," Adams said Tuesday on "Up & Adams."
Steelers running back Cordarrelle Patterson tweeted in response to Adams's podcast appearance: "Sounds like he wanna be a @steelers."
In reality, nowhere in the video does Adams say he wants to join the Steelers. He's an 11-year veteran chasing a championship, and Pittsburgh isn't quite in that position.
