If Mike Tomlin is at all concerned about the state of his team's wide receiver room after being unable to acquire Brandon Aiyuk last month, he's not showing it.

Tomlin intimated that Aiyuk wasn't a necessity for the Steelers because of the amount of talent in the league at the position.

"There is a plethora of receivers not only in the draft but in free agency," Tomlin said in his weekly press conference on Tuesday. "I mean, you can look at that position in the top three rounds of the draft over the last five years, and it gives you the indication of the amount of talent and the readiness of that talent in recent years, so we were really comfortable with it and not overly concerned about it to be quite honest with you."

The Steelers are known for their ability to select receivers who can contribute in a big way, regardless of where they're drafted, pointing to rookie Roman Wilson as a prime example.

"We're really excited about Roman Wilson. We got in the third round, for example. We've always done a nice job of acquiring receiver talent and not necessarily in the first round. I just think that speaks to the depth and readiness of the position."

Wilson, who injured his ankle in the second week of training camp practice, has yet to show what he can bring to the table. The rookie has been practicing in a limited capacity in recent days, and Tomlin expects to ramp it up as preparation for the Atlanta Falcons continues.
