CLEVELAND — The Guardians aren't the only team in the American League Central spinning their tires a bit, but two consecutive wins over the Detroit Tigers allowed Cleveland to enter Thursday with a five-game lead in the American League Central.

The Twins equaled the Guardians' record in their last 10 games at 4-6 each entering Thursday. The Royals have cooled off after a surprising start to the season came into the day six games back at 56-47.

After snapping a three-game losing streak Tuesday night and following it up with a win Wednesday, the Guardians (61-42) lost the series finale 3-0 to the Tigers on Thursday afternoon.
