Clemson baseball's Jack Crighton ejected vs Florida after Jac Caglianone, Nolan Nawrocki shoving incident

Clemson baseball first baseman Jack Crighton was ejected from the host Tigers' super regional Game 2 against Florida Sunday.

Florida pitcher Jac Caglianone collided with Clemson batter Nolan Nawrocki on the first base line while making a tag to end the top of the second inning. Both Caglianone and Nawrocki had words for each other and needed to be separated after the collision, while dugouts cleared for both teams, resulting in a nearly 20-minute delay.

Crighton, who was on second base, ran toward Caglianone and Nawrocki. Per the NCAA, Crighton was ejected for leaving his position on the field to go toward the the site of altercation.

Crighton was the only player on either team to be ejected as a result of the incident, though both dugouts received unsportsmanlike conduct warnings. Crighton will also be suspended for the Tigers' next game.

Tryston McCladdie replaced Crighton at first base.

Clemson trails Florida 1-0 in the best-of-three super regional and needs to win Sunday to keep its season alive and its hopes to make it to the College World Series for the first time since 2010.

If the Tigers win Game 2, they'll force a winner-take-all Game 3 on Monday. Crighton would miss that game.
