The Cincinnati Bengals got a head start on the roster cuts ahead of Tuesday's single deadline this offseason.

Cincinnati exited its first preseason game and quickly waived 11 players, with one of them being massively notable in the form of a second-round pick.

The NFL shifted to a single roster cutdown deadline this summer, but the Bengals ended their preseason early on Thursday night and opted to get to work early on it. Keep in mind that cut players can come back via the practice squad and that the final 53 isn't really "final" because they can still claim waived players, sign free agents and make trades.

Below, we'll keep a live-updating look at players the Bengals have released while trimming the roster to 53 players.

Offensive players cut

  • --WR Hakeem Butler

  • --HB Noah Cain

  • --OT Jackson Carman

  • --WR Kwamie Lassiter II

  • --QB Rocky Lombardi

  • --G Eric Miller

Defensive players cut

  • --DE Andre Carter

  • --LB Aaron Casey

  • --S Michael Dowell

  • --CB Allan George

  • -DT Joshua Pryor

On the bubble

  • LB Maema Njongmeta

  • RB Elijah Collins

  • P Ryan Rehkow

  • WR Cole Burgess

Most notable: Jackson Carman

A second-round pick, Carman never developed into the player the Bengals needed him to be. He started just six games since joining the team in 2021 and those were due to injuries. This preseason, he got outplayed by a former undrafted name such as Jaxson Kirkland.
