Caitlin Clark of Indiana Fever named WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month
Caitlin Clark is racking up a lot of hardware lately.
The WNBA announced Wednesday the Indiana Fever star as August’s Rookie of the Month for the third time, as well as Eastern Conference Player of the Month. She was also the top rookie in May and July. It's Clark's first Player of the Month honor.
With the Fever going 5-1 in August, Clark averaged 24 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 8.5 assists. She also earned WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week two times in that span.
Sir Charles speaks: WNBA players have 'petty jealousness' toward Clark
Clark, the No. 1 pick in this year’s WNBA draft, has changed the Fever’s fortunes throughout the season. Indiana (17-16) is over .500 for the first time since 2019 and clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2016.
Clark’s accolade comes directly after the Fever's Christie Sides was named August Coach of the Month.
The Fever have a six-game homestand coming up, starting with the Los Angeles Sparks on Wednesday night.
