Bills sign two-time college national champion to replace suspended Von Miller. What to know
The Buffalo Bills defense was hit by injuries in the first few weeks of the season. Now comes a suspension.
Buffalo poached rookie defensive tackle Zion Logue from the Atlanta Falcons practice squad after edge rusher Von Miller was suspended four games for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy on Tuesday.
Logue, 23, was selected in the sixth round, No. 197 overall, of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Falcons. The 6-foot-6, 330-pound lineman was waived on cutdown day, Aug. 27, and re-signed to the Atlanta's practice squad.
Because he was taken from another team's practice squad, Logue will immediately be on the the Bills' active roster. If he plays for Buffalo on Sunday it will be his first NFL regular season game.
Logue adds depth up front after Bills' defense was gashed for 271 rushing yards in a 35-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football.
Where is Zion Logue from?
He is from Lebanon, Tennessee, and was a three-star recruit out of Lebanon High School in the Class of 2019. Logue said he first love was baseball, where he was a pitcher, before pursuing basketball in high school. He added 40 pounds before his senior year of high school and focused on football as a college scholarship opportunity and career. He was invited to the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas, and received multiple college offers from his performance.
Zion Logue won two national championships at Georgia
Logue won the College Football Playoff National Championship with Georgia in 2021 and 2022. He was a full-time starter in 2022 when the Bulldogs repeated as champions with a 65-7 win over TCU to cap at 15-0 season. Georgia became the first team in a decade to repeat as national champions.

Logue finished his college career with 52 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks in 50 games.

Zion Logue was college teammates with three current Bills players
Logue will join former Georgia teammates, running back James Cook and center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, on the Bills' active roster. Former Bulldog Lewis Cine, who was National Championship Game MVP for Georgia's first two two straight titles, is on the Bills' practice squad.
All four players won the national title with Georgia in 2021. Van Pran-Granger was a two-time champion with Logue and was a fifth-round pick by the Bills in the 2024 NFL Draft.
How long is Von Miller suspended?
Von Miller was suspended four games by the NFL. He is eligible for reinstatement on Oct. 28 after Buffalo's Week 8 games against the Seattle Seahawks.
Miller turned himself in to the Dallas Police Department following a warrant issued for his arrest on Nov. 30. He was accused of assaulting a pregnant women and was released on $5,000 bond. The woman, who has two other children with Miller, withdrew her claim and no charges were filed.
