American Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone earned her spot in the finals with a blistering 52.13 finish in her semifinal heat, a full 1.7 seconds faster than the runner in second place. McLaughlin-Levrone owns the current world record at 50.65, but her dominance in the event is truly evident with one stat given during the broadcast.
For the rest of the field in the semifinal, their personal best in the 400m -- with no hurdles -- is slower than McLaughlin-Levrone's time with hurdles.

McLaughlin-Levrone will have a chance to add to her gold medal collection on Thursday with the finals on Thursday, August 8 at 3:25pm ET.
