One thing is for sure about Scorpios: They'll always keep you guessing. So if you're in a rut (dinner or otherwise), just ring up your nearest Scorpio friend; they'll know how to keep things interesting, even if they're a bit mysterious in the process. And don't we love a bit of mystery? We kinda do, especially in the fall. So, with Scorpio season (October 22 to November 21) finally upon us, we thought we'd bring that same energy to our dinner plans all season long, featuring all the best bold and never boring recipes that are so good, it's a bit confounding.

No matter if you believe in astrology and the zodiac signs (or just want to eat well this fall), we think you'll be fully on board with these meals that have plenty of spice (like our spaghetti all'assassina), surprise (our Mediterranean-stuffed meatballs), and complexity (a very deluxe coq au vin). Whatever you choose, be sure to chase it down with one of these cocktails based on all the astrological signs!

Coq au Vin

Coq au vin (or rooster with wine) is a classic French dish that isn't as complicated as it sounds, sort of like your favorite Scorpio. Chicken is braised in a silky wine sauce and finished off with butter for the most perfect sauce. Channel your inner Julia Child, and make this anytime you want to impress at your dinner party or at-home date night.

French Onion Baked Potatoes

Cozy, warming and perfectly rich for Scorpio season, our classic French onion soup is a recurring favorite on the weekly rotation. But, when we want to put those bowls away and dig into something a bit heartier, we turn to the tried-and-true potato to transform the staple soup into a filling comfort food. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or an easy appetizer, these cheesy, soupy potatoes can do it all.

Mediterranean Stuffed Meatballs

While we couldn’t ever say that we have a favorite cheese, feta is definitely close to the top, especially when mysteriously tucked into these Mediterranean-inspired meatballs. If you love cheese-stuffed foods and you’re a feta fan too, these meatballs are for you.

Dirty Martini Steak Frites

Don’t let the frozen fries fool you—this is a meal for grown-ups. In it, steak frites get fused with a dirty gin martini to create a combo that will leave you feeling like your most sophisticated self. Whip this 45-minute marvel up for date night or your next dinner party, and watch the compliments roll in.

Carbonara Pizza

If you can't get enough of Rome's famous spaghetti carbonara, then we have a sneaking suspicion you'll love this extra cheesy pizza version. With bacon, plenty of cheese, and an egg baked in the center of the pie, this pizza is salty, cheesy, and so satisfyingly messy, something a Scorpio could definitely get behind.

Tequila-Lime Chicken Thighs

We can’t think of a better reason to enjoy a margarita than with these tequila chicken thighs. With a sauce inspired by the classic cocktail (seriously!), you’ll also have the ingredients on hand to mix one up while you cook and dine on this easy-to-make weeknight dinner.

Spaghetti All'Assassina

This is like the OG one-pot pasta. The spaghetti is cooked in a spicy tomato broth in a style similar to risotto and charred in the pan as the broth gets absorbed. And when we say charred, we mean burnt. Trust us, the rich tomato, burned starch, and spicy mess of it all is absolutely delicious.

Steak With Bourbon Garlic Cream Sauce

Steak will always say “I love you,” but if you want to really jazz it up for your next date night (especially if you're trying to impress a Scorpio), make this 12-ounce strip with a creamy bourbon garlic sauce. Seared until deeply browned, basted in garlicky butter, and served with a dreamy pan gravy, this steak is the perfect centerpiece for any special occasion dinner.

Carnitas Tamale Pie

Delish started something extra special by inverting the classic tamale pie to give it a cornbread crust instead of a cornbread topping. We did it for the chicken tamale pie too, and we loved the idea so much that we kept the trend going with this Instant Pot carnitas version. It's full of surprises, just like a Scorpio.

Beef & Rice Stuffed Poblano Peppers

Classic stuffed peppers are one of our readers’ all-time favorites, and we thought we'd done them every possible way...until now. Here, we swap the bell peppers for poblanos and update the typical stuffing by using fire-roasted tomatoes, chipotle chiles, and spices.

Black Bean Sweet Potato Taco Skillet

Want taco night without the multiple pans and (semi-?) controlled chaos of a build-your-own dinner? Make this taco skillet. Saucy, spiced sweet potatoes and black beans are tossed with crushed potato chips and topped with melty cheese for a simple one-pan meal that will be your new weeknight go-to. Oh, and did we mention it’s vegetarian?

One-Pot Harissa Beet Soup

The beauty of this one-pot beet soup goes far beyond its vibrant color, as stunning as it is. Not only does the soup come together easily, but it's also delicious and nutritious. Antioxidant-rich beets are simmered with starchy potatoes, shallots, garlic, and aromatic harissa paste, which adds a subtle spicy and smoky flavor to the soup that a Scorpio will flip over.
