Cara Delevingne debuts a delicate micro-fringe for winter
Cara Delevingne has undergone the ultimate hair transformation, stepping onto the red carpet of the LACMA Art and Film Gala in Los Angeles sporting a statement new micro-fringe and sleek, textured up-do. The model sidelined her signature, shoulder-length crop in favour of a fluffy and playful cut resembling the vintage side-swept styling of Audrey Hepburn, alongside a fresh, warming colour.
Her latest 'do features a thick yet fluffy micro-fringe, which sits an inch below the hairline and far above the typical brow-scraping bangs. While it's yet to be deciphered whether the effortless trim is a set of clip on extensions or Delevingne's own lengths, when paired with a pared back make-up look, there's no denying its sophisticated appeal. The elegant knot-style bun was paired with with a subtle flicked eyeliner, soft nude lipstick and Delevingne's strong and defined trademark brow. It was a dramatic beauty look paired with something simple – the model opted for a classic black cut-out gown by Gucci.
If you're looking to adopt the model's tousled new cut, it's worth noting that it will require both upkeep and regular styling. As well as regular trims to retain its short length and graphic finish, you'll also need to invest in a styling cream and detailed tools such as a miniature hair straightener or small round brush for everyday shaping.
While Delevingne's vintage style is one extreme example of a statement fringe cut, on the other side of the scale, the soft and face-framing curtain fringe has long been hailed as the cut of the season. Just this year, Dakota Johnson, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Sabrina Carpenter have all made a case for the trendy curtains. If you're not familiar with wearing a fringe, this is the perfect entry-level style.
