Ottawa Senators Star Defenceman Absent From Practice

When the Ottawa Senators hit the ice for practice on Friday morning, prepping for their road game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night, a couple of players were notable by their absences.

Both defenceman Jake Sanderson and winger Noah Gregor weren't at practice. Neither player appeared to be struck by a visible injury in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Flyers so it may just be a maintenance day. As we know, not all injuries are immediately evident until after the game or the morning after.

Travis Green isn't particularly forthcoming when it comes to providing information about injuries, but we'll see what he has to say later today. With Sanderson and Gregor both absent from practice, here's how Green improvised this morning.

Mike Amadio moved over to Shane Pinto's left side on the third line. David Perron slid in at right wing, though his timeline for a return remains unknown due to personal reasons. Jacob Bernard-Docker, who's been a healthy scratch for several games, filled in for Sanderson.

With Artem Zub recently returning from an injury, Green is hoping for a good long run of good health form his top four. While Sanderson hasn't been at his best lately, losing him for any amount of time would be less than ideal.
