NBA rumors: Kyle Lowry sweepstakes down to Heat, Lakers, Clippers
The Kyle Lowry sweepstakes are intensifying with an increasing amount of chatter that the Toronto Raptors point guard will be dealt before Thursday's NBA trade deadline.
Several conflicting reports emerged early Thursday regarding Lowry's potential next destination, just as the Raptors were shipping guard Norman Powell to the Portland Trail Blazers in a trade that sees Gary Trent Jr. and Rodney Hood head to Toronto.
Not long after Brian Windhorst of ESPN reported that Lowry is “preparing to be traded to the Sixers,” his colleague Adrian Wojnarowski says Philadelphia is no longer in the mix. Meanwhile, the Miami Herald's reporter Barry Jackson adds that the Heat continue to pursue the Raptors' six-time All-Star, with the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers also engaged in trade discussions.
With 76ers no longer pursuing Lowry (per ESPN), Heat obviously remains very much in it. A source said Lakers and Clippers also have engaged.

Windhorst earlier reported that the Heat were not willing to offer Tyler Herro in a proposed deal.

Lowry, of course, has been the subject of an increasing amount of trade rumours leading up to Thursday’s NBA trade deadline, which follows his memorable performance Wednesday against the Denver Nuggets in what might have been his final game as a Raptor.
