Meet the Mercedes-AMG GT43, the new entry-level GT Coupe from Mercedes. After redesigning the GT Coupe in 2024, Mercedes followed up by adding the new base model which comes with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and rear-wheel drive. Despite having half the cylinders as the more expensive GT55 and GT63 variants, the new entry-level model generates a respectable 416 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.
After redesigning the AMG GT Coupe in 2024, Mercedes added a new GT43 base variant for 2025.
The GT43 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 416 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.
Unlike the more powerful GT55 and GT63 variants which are capable of all-wheel drive, the GT43 sends its power exclusively to the rear axle.
According to Mercedes, the entry model will take 4.5 seconds to sprint from zer0-to-60 mph.
Part of that figure comes from aero assistance, with the GT43's front fascia featuring a hidden louver system to reduce drag.
Depending on the driving situation, the rear spoiler has five positions above 50 mph to optimize stability or reduce drag.
According to Mercedes, the GT43 will begin arriving at dealerships in the fall of 2024.
Pricing for the base model will start at $107,050.
That starting price makes the GT43 more than $30,000 cheaper than its closest stablemate, with the GT55 starting at $138,700 and the GT63 starting at $180,200.
