Heads up, this is the sweetest story you’ll read all week.

Sending a text to the wrong number is usually a little embarrassing, often resulting in a short yet awks text exchange of explanation.

But not this mistaken message, which lead to a super sweet stranger text thread and ultimately resulted in thousands of pounds being raised for a little boy’s cancer treatment.

Confused? Let’s rewind.

When Sydney needed a second opinion while out solo dress shopping, she took a few quick snapshots of herself in the frock and fired them off to a friend.

Except she hadn’t texted her friend, but a complete stranger, named Tony Wood.

Rather than just ignore Syd, in her hour of changing room need, Tony, a father-of-six, decided to get his kids involved to help offer her an opinion on the dress.

“I believe this message was intended for someone else,” his text response started.

Tony then messaged Syd a photo of his children giving the dress a big fat thumbs up.

Aww.

But the story doesn’t end there.

Touched by the sweet stranger exchange a friend of Syd’s posted screenshots of the messages to Twitter and the thread quickly captured the hearts of social media, clocking up more than 691K likes and over 172K retweets.

Unsurprisingly news got back to Tony that his children were quickly becoming social media famous, so he decided to tweet a shout-out to the kids brother, who was missing from the picture.

“Hello! Apparently you have made my children Twitter famous! My 2nd youngest (not pictured, he was at chemo clinic) has a FB page for his fight against Leukaemia and one of our Prayer Warriors recognised the children!” he wrote on Twitter.

“Btw, my wife agreed that the dress looked great! God Bless!”

And in yet another heart-warming twist, another user shared a link to little Kaizler’s GoFundMe page, urging Twitter to “do it’s magic.”

“My wife isn’t home, so I couldn’t get her opinion, but the kids and I think you look stunning in your dress! You should definitely go with that one!”

Thankfully, Twitter was more than happy to oblige and in an ending worthy of a Hollywood movie, more than £9000 has been donated to the fund since the mistaken message exchange went viral.

Taking to Twitter to thank everyone Tony wrote: “The kindness and generosity of Twitter and other venues saw our gofundme account surpass our goal last night!”

“I can’t begin to thank everyone enough! This is a major hour of need for us and this blessing will help more than you know!”

Told you, sweetest story you’ll read all week.
