All we want for Christmas is Claudia Winkleman's ME+EM coat
Claudia Winkleman has long been one of Red's style icons, so when she also wears one of our favourite brands, it's a match made in fashion heaven for our team. The latest Claud-approved piece to catch our eye is a ME+EM cream coat that's gone straight to the top of our Christmas wish list.
The TV presenter's stylist, Sinead McKeefry, shared some pictures of her wearing the £550 style while recording a Christmas special of Channel 4's The Piano at Battersea Power Station today (Wednesday 6 November). Helpfully, Sinead promptly let her 60k followers know that they could find it at ME+EM, and also revealed that Claudia's black lace-up boots are from Legres.
Now, we'll have to be very nice in the run-up to Christmas Day, because this ME+EM coat is definitely an investment buy. But if you're lucky enough to find it under the Christmas tree (whether you put it there yourself or not!), it's one you'll wear forever.
We love the military-inspired spin on a classic A-line coat, which is made from a wool-blend bouclé fabric with elegant notched lapels and chic bronze-toned buttons. Four patch pockets add practicality, with their front positioning keeping the silhouette sleekly streamlined.
If you're worried about the cream colour, perhaps if you've got children, dogs or are prone to spilling coffee, then note that this ME+EM coat is also available in navy. It comes in sizes 4 to 16 and is mostly still in stock at the time of writing.
Our fashion editor Jodie Dunworth called out nautical coats as a key trend this season, noting that the cool way to wear them is with smart tailoring and gossamer-thin fabrics. 'Finish with gilded accessories to execute this modern seafaring trend with military precision,' she said, suggesting a Mango pea coat as an affordable way to try it this winter.
