Unique ‘bubble’ hotel under the Icelandic starscape is total holiday goals
While we’re still unsure if we’ll be able to travel abroad this summer, we can’t help but dream of the places we’d love to go when things do get back to normal.
And this amazing ‘bubble’ hotel in Iceland is definitely on the lust-list.
The secluded retreat offers guests a once in a lifetime stay in an entirely private glass bubble nestled in the remote wooded area of this forest near Reykholt, Southern Iceland.

When inside the bubble you can sleep under a sea of twinkling stars and, if you are lucky, catch a glimpse of aurora borealis, or the northern lights, the colourful display of lights shimmering across the night sky.
“Some childhood dreams stay with us for our whole lives,” says Robert Robertson, managing director of the Bubble project based in Reykjavík, Iceland.
“Sleeping under the stars or watching the aurora borealis dance is one of those lifelong dreams. To fulfil these dreams the Bubble concept was born.”

The website states that their guests can “enjoy the aurora and stars in the winter and the midnight sun and nature in summer.”
“In the winter we have the aurora or the stars, but in the summer you are going to be in the proximity to nature, wonderful birds, butterflies and great midnight-sun scenery,” Robertson adds.
“Forget the city, forget work and enjoy watching the aurora borealis dance for you. We can of course not guarantee you will see the lights, but if they show up you will have a magical night.”

And even if you don’t get to see the lights, the bubble itself will totally up the ante on your Instagram profile.
According to Thrillist the bubbles are heated and secluded with a nearby building with a shared bathroom and kitchen.
And if you’re wondering about the toilet situ in these glass bubbles, don’t worry we thought about it too, but the hotel description says there “is a shared service house with two toilets and showers and a self-service kitchen.”
