Twitter users are sharing a potato make-up tutorial to beat the January blues

We’re no longer toasting breakfast with a bottle of bubbly while Quality Street is sadly not a work-appropriate lunch option this week, as people across the nation are adjusting to life post-Christmas once again.

But in a bid to shake the January blues, social media users are sharing a bizarre (albeit hilarious) video of a potato receiving a makeover. Yes, welcome to 2019 everyone.

The 15-second clip originally shared by Tik Tok user @elona_balasyan depicts the vegetable receiving a full transformation with carefully pencilled brows, eyeshadow and contouring included in the line-up.

After being posted on Twitter, the now-viral post has garnered over 28,700 likes and 8,000 retweets with social media users drawing comparisons between the potato’s fresh look and their own morning make-up routine:

We have to admit, after a week spent lounging on the sofa with which cheese to tackle next posing as the only real dilemma – we’ve never related to a potato more.
