This Superheroic Wedding Cake Is The Definition Of Marital Compromise

What happens when a bride and groom can’t decide on the perfect wedding cake? This.
This work of genius is the brainchild of cake making extraordinaire Julia Baker, from Tier by Tier baking in Milton Keynes. Cleverly combining an exquisite and traditional bake with a cheeky glimpse of four layers of delectable Marvel goodness, it’s quite possibly the best baked compromise we’ve ever laid eyes on.
From the front, the cake looks like your average four-tiered and all-white oh-so-fabulous wedding cake, but spin it around and you’ll see that at the back it’s a mix of Marvel and D.C Comics superheroes with one sponge dedicated to Captain America, another to Spider-Man, a third to Batman and the bottom layer to Iron Man.
Julia suggested the ‘double take’ design to Bedfordshire couple Kia and Billy Bunning, when realised that they had very different ideas about what they wanted their cake to look like.
Clearly, there’s a whole lot of healthy compromise going on in this relationship – the longevity of the marriage is looking good.
Needless to say, the couple were very happy with the finished product – a very good thing as it took 40 hours to make. But spending 12 hours making sugar flowers and another 28 baking and icing the cake was no hardship on Julia.
“I loved every minute making this cake, as I knew it would be something that people would be surprised at and appeal to all the Marvel fans!” she told Huffington Post.
