Tess Daly reveals Strictly dress code for herself and Claudia Winkleman – and it's not what people think
Tess Daly presents Strictly Come Dancing alongside co-host Claudia Winkleman, who took over from the late Bruce Forsyth a decade ago. The two women always look glamorous when they appear on the live shows on Saturday evenings, often opting for glittery or sequined ensembles.
However, Tess opened up about the dress code she's meant to follow in an unearthed interview about the BBC staple. The 55-year-old star previously told Radio Times: "There are certain rules... If you're showing too much shoulder, you won't expose a lot of thighs. It's not my thing to go over the top."
Tess's stylist, James Yardley, previously revealed that he starts sourcing her Strictly outfits in August ahead of the show's annual debut in September.

He told Yahoo: "It's not that far in advance because as you approach autumn and winter, styles change, and you start to get longer dresses and suits, and silks and satins come in. We try a lot of things at these fittings, about 50 looks. I've never really known anyone like Tess who has such a love for clothes, and she enjoys trying things on. We know what works and what doesn't."
Tess is known for her thick blonde locks, figure-hugging dresses and sparkly jumpsuits, while Claudia is as famous for her block fringe and black eyeliner as she is for her presenting career.
When the show returned earlier this year for its milestone 20th series, fans were just as excited to see what the duo would wear as they were to watch the celebrities and their professional partners take to the dance floor.
Claudia sparked a frenzy with her Princess Leia-inspired dress for the opening night's show, which made her look like a modern-day version of the Star Wars character.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to comment on Claudia's updo and draped nude gown, one fan penned: "Waiting for Claudia to say, 'Help me Obi Wan. You're our only hope.'"
A second added: "Claudia dressed as a Jedi this week, I see," while a third said: "Claudia's Fashion Leia dress is everything #Strictly."
Tess, on the other hand, chose a bright red tailored jumpsuit cinched in at the waist, paired with pointed court shoes. The star wore her hair down and kept her eye makeup natural and warm with nude lipstick.
The pair have continued to impress fans with their stunning outfit choices as the weeks have progressed in the competition. During the latest live show, a fan wrote on X with crying emojis: "How amazing does #TessDaly look? She's the same age as me, too."
Another remarked: "I'm astounded every time I see her, she's so beautiful." Dawn added: "She's always been naturally so effortlessly beautiful."
