Strictly Come Dancing star Johannes Radebe has addressed rumours that he's quitting the BBC show after six years. The professional dancer is competing with Gladiators star Montell Douglas in the current series, having joined the cast back in 2018.

Posting on Instagram, Johannes has set the record straight regarding whether he will be quitting the BBC show. He posted: "I'm not going nowhere! The story isn't true - I love @bbcstrictly and I want to do this beautiful show for as long as they want me - and the body will allow. I have Kinky Boots and other work in the pipeline yes but nothing will take me away."

Fans had speculated that Johannes could be leaving Strictly because he has two other projects in the pipeline. He is expected to appear in the stage musical of Kinky Boots, and his autobiography JoJo: Finally Home is making waves towards a film adaptation, with Argo Films on board. Producer Richard Johns expressed his enthusiasm to Deadline in September, saying: "Johannes' story is so full of joy and life that I found the project completely irresistible and therefore couldn't be more thrilled to work with [producers] Anthony and Helena on bringing this uplifting memoir to the screen. They are an incredible pairing, used to working together, but have quickly made me feel welcome as part of the team."

The Strictly sensation's memoir paints a vivid picture of his early life in the South African township of Zamelda and charts his ascent in the dance world, working as a dance teacher and dancing on cruise ships, culminating in his performances on the hit BBC series Strictly Come Dancing. In previous series he has been paired with celebrities including tennis star Annabel Croft, actress Caroline Quentin, and chef John Whaite for the first same sex male pairing on the show.

This year on Strictly, Johannes has been paired with Montell Douglas, and since week four they have consistently scored more than 30 points from the judges for each of their dances. In week five, they scored three 10s from Anton Du Beke, Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse and a nine from Craig Revel Horwood for their couple's choice dance to Skeleton Move by Master KG, and last week they scored a total of 35 for their waltz during Icons Week to Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You. This Saturday, they will be dancing a Paso Doble to Lola’s Theme by The Shapeshifter.
