Strictly star Shayne Ward celebrates birthday with famous fiancee - and fans can't believe his age
Strictly Come Dancing star Shayne Ward has been celebrating his birthday in between rehearsals, with his fiancée, former Hollyoaks star Sophie Austin. The star took to Instagram to show off his ‘stripped back’ birthday celebrations with his family, as he continues to compete in the 20th season of the hit BBC dance show.
It was a big birthday for Shayne, as he celebrated the big 4-0 at home with his fiancée and two children, daughter Willow, seven, and son Reign, two. Taking to his Instagram, the 2005 X Factor winner shared some cute family photos with his children, as they posed in front of a 40 sign, filled with blue and gold balloons. The star could also be seen wearing a gold crown to celebrate the big day.
However, fans, who fondly remembered his appearance on the show almost two decades ago couldn’t believe his age. Yvie Burnett, worked as a vocal coach on The X Factor which in 2005, reminisced: "Oh my goodness I'm sure I celebrated your 21st with you ! ! Bloody hell. Happy birthday."

One shocked fan wrote: "Wow Happy Bday Shayne. The big 40. You look about 20. Have a great day,” as another agreed: "Happy birthday, you don't look 40, you're doing great in Strictly you've came far since the X Factor . Keep dancing you're doing brilliant."
Despite being in Strictly rehearsals during the week, the show didn’t forget. The star was surprised with a birthday cake as he appeared on the spin off show It Takes Two, alongside his partner Nancy Xu. The week prior saw the pair in the bottom two alongside Nick Knowles, despite getting an impressive 30 points.
Speaking about his birthday celebrations, Shayne told The Mirror: “I woke up to a beautiful surprise my fiancée Sophie and Willow had organised. I got my little son up and had a beautiful morning with my family. I walked my girl to school and then waved my son off to nursery.
“Then I rehearsed with Nancy for about eight hours and went home to put the kids to bed. It was a pretty good 40th – but we’ll be going on a Ward adventure pretty soon.” He added: “I didn’t have any drinks to celebrate!"
