Sarah Ferguson speaks out in support of Meghan Markle – 'I have been in her shoes'
Sarah Ferguson has spoken of her empathy for the Duchess of Sussex.
The Duchess of York, 60, who was formerly married to Prince Andrew, 59, was speaking as part of an exclusive interview with Vogue Arabia.
“It must be hard for Meghan, and I can relate to her,” she said. “I believe [Meghan] is modern and fabulous.”
Ferguson, popularly known as “Fergie”, was personally at the centre of a media storm following the toe-sucking scandal, where photographs surfaced financial advisor John Bryan kissing her toes while the pair were poolside in St Tropez.

“I tend not to give advice because it is taken out of context, but I have been in Meghan’s shoes, and I still am,” Prince Andrew’s ex-wife said.
Of the media coverage surrounding Duchess Meghan, 38, she added: “There’s always a twist of negativity and it just gets so sad and tiring; it’s hard and mean.”
Earlier this year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they were launching legal action against a number of publications over their treatment by the media.
Ferguson joins a number of celebrities in publicly supporting Meghan.
Meghan’s defenders include Ellen DeGeneres, who said on her eponymous chat show: “I hate it, I see [Meghan and Harry] get attacked and it’s not fair,” she said. “They’re just two of the most down to earth compassionate people, they’re doing so much good for the world.”
