Former Death in Paradise star Ralf Little has shared a hilarious reaction to a new show project.

The BBC series announced a new puzzle book this week, which promises 150 “mind-bending” entries for fans to solve.

“This fiendishly entertaining book whisks you away into the world of Saint Marie, casting you among your favourite characters and bringing you along on a brand new story,” the announcement on Instagram reads.

“So grab a mojito and your magnifying glass – it’s time to find out whodunnit.”

However, Little – who played DI Neville Parker up until this year – joked in the comments that he struggled to figure out cases when he was reading the show’s scripts.

“No. Didn’t figure it out once when reading the scripts,” he wrote. “Luckily Neville is cleverer than I am.”

Fans can get their hands on the book themselves from 7th November – with pre-orders now available on Amazon.

Little’s departure from the BBC series was confirmed in March following the season 13 finale, and it was later revealed that EastEnders star Don Gilet would take over as new lead DI Mervin Wilson.

Little later sent his congratulations to his successor, saying on social media: "The new detective is the wonderful Don Gilet! And I just wanna say, from me to you, Don, I hope you have the most wonderful time.

"It's the most magical experience, and I just hope you just get everything out of it, and I wish you the best of luck. I'm absolutely sure you're gonna be magnificent. Cheers, mate."

Little recently began airing a new show called Will & Ralf Should Know Better, which sees himself and his friend Will Mellor travel across the UK to try new experiences.

Death in Paradise and its spin-off, Beyond Paradise, both air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
