In a highly unexpected turn of events, Queen Camilla accidentally ‘crashed’ the set of Married at First Sight Australia as she toured the nation with her husband, King Charles. The 12th season of the dramatic reality show is currently being filmed in Sydney, in line with the royal visit. The bride and grooms taking part in the experiment forgot about their marriages for a second, after being left open mouthed as they watched the moment unfold on the TV set.

Shirtless grooms were seen looking over their balconies with their shocked brides as they realised just who was outside. The Queen, who was dressed in a royal blue midi dress, gave a wave to the excited crowd. The encounter happened near One Global Resorts, the luxurious complex hosting the MAFS cast this season. Participants photographed reacting to the unexpected moment included Jacqueline Burfoot and Ryan Donnelly, who could be seen capturing the moment on their phones.

Earlier in the day, grooms Paul Antoine and Ryan were spotted among the public crowd at Green Square, as they eagerly awaited Camilla’s arrival. However, it’s reported MAFS duties got in the way of a sighting, as they were called back inside by producers to prepare for filming for an upcoming dinner party.

The moment of Camilla’s arrival near the set was captured by the Channel Nine cameras, a producer told Daily Mail Australia, however, it’s unclear whether the scenes will make the final cut among all the drama.

The new series - which is based on the UK original - has quickly become one of the most dramatic yet, and in a series first, bride and groom Jeff Gobbels and Rhi Disljenkovic had actually dated before.

On Tuesday, King Charles and Queen Camilla ended their royal trip on a high, as thousands of people were out on the streets of Sydney, against the iconic Opera House during the late afternoon.

Despite the King revealing he was undergoing treatment for cancer in February, he looked in good spirits. Although many suspected the tour was looking unlikely to go ahead, the King made it down under with modifications on the advice of doctors.

The duration of the visit had been made shorter and the engagements have been arranged to avoid early starts and late finishes, although it has still been a jam packed schedule for the monarch.

Tuesday alone included visiting a food bank, a social housing project, a literacy initiative, a community barbecue, and celebrating the Sydney Opera House's 50th anniversary.
