Next to Queen Elizabeth II, it’s long been known that Princess Anne is one of the hardest working members of the Royal Family.
This status has only been further cemented this year, as the 72 year old has been named the hardest working royal for 2022 after attending an impressive 214 engagements.
According to data from The Court Circular, the official record of past royal engagements, which has been collated by Reboot SEO Company, King Charles III was named as the second hardest working Royal Family member, attending 181 engagements this year.

The Queen’s youngest son, Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, and his wife, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, came in third and fourth respectively, with Edward attending 143 engagements and Sophie attending 138.
William, Prince of Wales, was fifth in terms of engagements for 2022, having attended 126 this year, while the recently anointed Camilla, Queen Consort, was sixth with 102 engagements.

Kate, Princess of Wales was further down the list at number nine, having attended 90 engagements in 2022. She followed the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester (seventh and eighth), who attended 100 and 94 engagements respectively.
The final two Royal Family members on the list were the Duke of Kent in 10th, who attended 78 engagements, and Princess Alexandra in 11th, who attended 44 engagements.
November was Anne’s busiest month for engagements, attending 30 engagements across the month which equates to one per day. Her least busiest month was August, which is often a holiday month for the Royal Family, as Anne attended just four engagements.
Anne was also named the hardest working member of the Royal Family in 2021, when she attended 387 engagements throughout the year. She also clocked the most engagements in 2000, 2018, 2016 and 2015. King Charles - then Prince Charles - logged the most in 2017 and 2014.
In June, to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Buckingham Palace revealed that Queen Elizabeth II carried out more than 21,000 engagements across her 70-year reign.
The Queen’s final engagement took place just two days before her death in September this year, when she received incoming (and now former) prime minister Liz Truss on 6 September at her Balmoral Estate in Scotland.
Her Majesty died of old age on 8 September, with Anne and King Charles at her bedside when she passed.
