Prince Harry battling a 'new wave of agony' after retracing Diana's steps

Prince Harry is “miserable and unhappy”, a royal biographer has claimed.

Royal biographer Angela Levin, told Sky News: “I think [Harry] feels and looks incredibly miserable and unhappy.”

She claimed this was in the wake of Harry’s time retracing Princess Diana’s steps during the Sussex tour of Africa.

As part of the tour, the prince, 35, walked alone through a partially-cleared minefield in Angola, following the actions of his mother 22 years before.

The next day, he visited the exact same spot his mother walked through in January 1997– now a thriving suburban community – to sit on a bench under a tree was planted in her honour.

Levin, who last year published ‘Harry: A Biography of a Prince’ based on an interview with Harry ahead of his wedding to Meghan Markle, 38, in May 2018, together with shadowing the prince for over a year, said he had been affected by the visit.

“[Harry] is having another wave of agony over his mother, Princess Diana. The trip was going to be very difficult as he was retracing his mother's steps,” she told the broadcaster.

She added: “Meghan is unhappy too and it seems incredibly sad that they can't seem to help each other at the moment.”

Prince Harry recently opened up about the lasting effect his mother’s death had on him. Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris in 1997 after allegedly enduring a chase by the paparazzi.

Speaking during ITV’s ‘Harry & Meghan: An African Journey’ documentary, Harry said: “I think being part of this family, in this role, in this job, every single time I see a camera, every single time I hear a click, every single time I see a flash it takes me straight back.”

“So in that respect it's the worst reminder of her life as opposed to the best,” he added.
