Pippa Middleton has something she wants to clear up. Despite a public persona that paints her as a glamorous girl-about-town, the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister says she’s far happier at home on the sofa with her fiancé.
In a rare interview with Daily Mail, the younger sister of Kate Middleton, who recently got engaged to financier James Matthews, revealed she’s no ‘party girl’
“People see me as someone privileged who has used my position to advantage; that I don’t really work, that I am a socialite - that word really irritates me - and that I’m a party girl without any substance,” she told the publication.
The 33-year-old, first hit the public’s radars after acting as bridesmaid in THAT frock at the Royal wedding back in 2011. Since then she’s rarely been out of the headlines, but she’s keen to dispel some rumours.

“I have had a few years of being in the public eye and I have developed something of a thick skin. But managing it all on my own has been quite hard,” she said.
“I try not to be too sensitive about things because it’s just a bit of life I have to deal with. But I would be lying if I said it didn’t affect me.”
And she will have needed that thick skin after the release of her first book of party planning tips, which was mocked for it’s ‘obvious’ suggestions.
It hasn’t put Pippa off dipping her toes in the publishing waters for a second time, however, and the author is now launching a cookery book, Heartfelt, to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, of which she is an ambassador.
Though she chose all of the recipes in the book, which aims to promote a balanced diet with low sugar and salt intake, Pippa confessed to Daily Mail that she hasn’t made all of them herself.
“I would like to say I have made every single one, but I have definitely done a good 80 per cent of them. I made a lot of the dishes at home,” she said.

Back in July, Pippa and James Matthews announced their engagement around a year after they started dating. And Pippa admits that it was a special dish of roasted Halibut with roast tomato and herb dressing that helped her win James’ heart.
“I am sure he might choose a different dish as his favourite, but it was a very special dinner for us. You roast the Halibut and serve it with lentils. It’s delicious. James loves it.”
