Nicole Kidman was pictured out and about in New York recently and her low-key but put-together outfit offered up the perfect formula for workwear this autumn.
If you're stuck for office outfit ideas this season, the actress reminded us that it's always a good idea to embrace wardrobe essentials. She was pictured wearing a fitted black polo neck – a sleek choice that goes with everything – tucked into wide-leg tailored trousers in a charcoal grey shade. Whatever colour you go for, these voluminous pants are the often the answer to smart casual dress code problems. Plus, they can easily be dressed up with accessories and jewellery.
To finish her off-duty look, Kidman wore this season's must-have flats – classic black loafers. A footwear staple, this shoe style pairs perfectly with tailoring, but it also has the ability to smarten up even the most casual of looks.
Kidman knows how to elevate everyday pieces into something more sophisticated. At the Balenciaga spring/summer 25 show in Paris last month, she wore an all-black bodycon midi dress, also with a rollneck, which was made instantly chic teamed with a pair of black pointed stilettos.
