Miranda Hart shares first glimpse of new husband in loved-up video after revealing shock marriage news
Miranda Hart has sent her fans into a frenzy after sharing a sneak peek of her new hubby in an adorable Instagram video on Tuesday night. Just before his big reveal, the 51 year old comedian confirmed live on The One Show that she had secretly married. At the end of the clip, Miranda playfully high-fived her husband, expressing gratitude to her followers for their well-wishes following the happy news.
"I've got my best friend to do life with and it's wonderful. And I'm also utterly thrilled to be back in tele land and having a book out. Um so yeah, thanks so much for all your support." She concluded: "High-five husband. Ho ho. Exclusive, his hand. Bye," she joked. Alongside her heartfelt message, Miranda captioned her post: "Thank you for being happy that I am happy. You're very sweet and kind. And how we met is a little reveal in the book I hope you enjoy. X."
Her fans were eager to get a better look at her new man as they raced to the comments to congratulate her. One person said: "You're such a wonderful-hearted (if that's a word!) person I'm so pleased your heart is as wonderfully happy!"

Miranda revealed the happy news to The One Show hosts Alex Jones and Alex Scott on Tuesday evening while discussing her new book, I Haven't Been Entirely Honest With You, in which she writes about her mystery husband. She happily said: "I'm married, I got married at 51 and it's just so lovely! I'd written Gary for onscreen Miranda and it wasn't until I was 49 that I met my person. It's a little undercurrent in the book, I'm not going to reveal how we met because that's a little bit of a twist. He's my best friend, we had the best fun and I'm just thrilled to be a young bride at 51."
She continued to talk about finding love after a tough time with her health as she said: "The fact that I met someone during a pandemic, during chronic illness, when I couldn't get out of bed or out of the house... I really, really wanted to meet someone, I didn't want to do life on my own anymore.
"The fact that I could meet somebody, it's not some some of romcom story but it's hope. Whatever situation you are in, there is always hope, things really do change." Miranda touched upon her health battles last week when she announced her book was on the way. She wrote on Instagram: "Big news – book out in a week. I share lots of stories of my last decade – mainly what I have learnt living with chronic illness – but there's lots of fun and some of my own big news." After her exciting announcement, The One show tweeted: "Lovely news! Congratulations to @mermhart who has revealed that she recently got married."
