Melania Trump mocked for 'creepy' White House Christmas decorations
Melania Trump has been busy decorating the White House for her first Christmas.
And while the First Lady probably wanted to make the place feel warm and welcoming, her choice of decorations had the opposite effect.
The holidays are upon us!! Right now: flotus is seeing to every last detail here at the @WhiteHouse pic.twitter.com/TglHYDVUx1

Choosing white leafless trees with absolutely zero festive lights or baubles, the corridor of the White House looks like something out of a horror film once evening hits.
Are Christmas decorations supposed to give you creeping anxiety and a feeling of lingering dread?

“Are Christmas decorations supposed to give you creeping anxiety and a feeling of lingering dread?” mocked one person on Twitter.
Social media took no time in creating meme upon meme, comparing Melania’s work to The Upside down from ‘Stranger Things’, ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ and even ‘The Blair Witch Project’.

“Come and play with us, Barron. Forever. And ever,” tweeted another with a photo of ‘The Shining’ twins standing in the hallway. “This year’s theme: A Blair Witch Christmas,” commented another critic.
Others said Melania was simply reflecting the depressing mood of the country under her husband’s rule.
This photo is a perfect metaphor for @realDonaldTrump’s first year as president.

@FLOTUS really nailed that post-apocalyptic-hellscape-that-was-once-our-great-nation feel

“This photo is a perfect metaphor for Donald Trump’s first year as president,” wrote one man while another agreed: “FLOTUS really nailed that post-apocalyptic-hellscape-that-was-once-our-great-nation feel.”
Just compare it to former First Lady Michelle Obama’s cosy green-and-red and Laura Bush’s joyful decor.
Better luck next year, Melania.
