Is Meghan Markle writing her own Instagram captions?

Meghan Markle was an avid social media user before she married into the Royal Family.

The former actress, 37, had boasted over 1.9 million Instagram followers, in addition to 350,000 followers on Twitter, before she deactivated her accounts in January 2018.

Up until April 2, 2019, Meghan and Harry’s work and engagements were documented under the @KensingtonRoyal account, alongside the Cambridges.

Now that they have their own Instagram page @SussexRoyal, there are subtle signs that Meghan might actually be writing the captions herself.

Their latest post is a personal ‘thank you’ to well-wishers who have made donations to four charities, in lieu of gifts for the couple’s forthcoming baby.

It read: “Just one week ago, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex asked that you kindly consider supporting various organisations around the world in lieu of sending gifts for the upcoming arrival of their first born. Not only did many of you lend your support, you took action.”

“Their royal highnesses wanted you to know the impact of your support – the direct effect your donation, energy, and action made! YOU chose to be part of the collective good, and you have a made a real difference.”

The caption continued to highlight the impact the money has had on each charity, including currency in both dollars and pounds, to reflect the couple’s nationalities and the influx of donations from around the world.

“Whether a $5 donation, £1000 contribution, offering to volunteer, or spreading the word – you’ve played your part. And on behalf of The Duke and Duchess (and Baby Sussex), we thank you so much.”

There was also the use of Americanisms such as ‘cribs,’ and ‘diapers’ instead of cots and nappies.

“Baby2Baby have received over 5,000 products to disperse to children in need, including cribs, books, backpacks, diapers and have received monetary donations from around the globe – from Guadalajara to Italy.”

Meghan and Harry’s Instagram account broke a world record by gaining one million followers in just six hours. That number is currently 4.6 million.

While the couple announced last week that they will keeping details around their baby’s birth private, many royal fans think that Baby Sussex will make his or her debut on Instagram in the coming weeks.
