'Meghan Markle currently weaning Archie,' says royal expert
It’s been over six months since Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born on 6 May 2019.
During that time, he’s largely been kept out of the spotlight - with the exception of an outing while on tour in South Africa.
But, the odd piece of information regarding his development has surfaced, such as the fact that he’s already crawling and has two teeth.
We also now know that the young royal is being weaned by his mum, Meghan Markle.
“Meghan says that Archie’s currently being weaned at the moment,” says royal reporter Omid Scobie in an episode of Yahoo UK’s ‘The Royal Story’.
“He’s moving on to, or I guess at some point, moving on to solids.”
Speaking to former palace chef Carolyn Robb, Scobie asks what a royal baby diet looks like.
“Organic, obviously,” says Robb, who cooked for Prince Charles and Princess Diana at Kensington Palace during their marriage and for Prince Charles following their separation.
Robb says baby food pouches likely won’t be included in Archie’s diet and instead Meghan and Harry will be making their son’s food from scratch.
“Seasonal and just very simple - everything made fresh. No pouches. There’s so much pre-made food available but I’m sure they would like doing everything themselves.”
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge reportedly opted to wean their youngest child, one-year-old Prince Louis, on British-made follow-on milk Kendamil.
According to Sunday Telegraph, the parents were introduced to the formula by their nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, who contacted the company in June 2018 follow concerns from parent that a new Aptamil formula was making babies ill.
