'Marry Me' chicken recipe so easy you can just 'throw it all in'
Thinking about what to eat after work during the middle of the week can be a nightmare, and you'll likely want something quick and easy.
Well, you're in luck because it's officially 'slow cooker season' when things can be popped into the handy device and left to simmer and cook with minimal effort from you. And chef Poppy O'Toole's 'Marry Me' chicken recipe is no different, as she praises how easy it is to make - and it looks absolutely divine.
"Get this slow cooker out of the back of the cupboard, put this in", she urged people who were not sure about making the creamy and delicious meal.

Poppy explained that you need to cook the meal for between six and seven hours on low, but many people may be wondering how the meal got its name. According to BBC Good Food, "The idea behind the name is that because this dish is so good, whoever you serve it to will drop down on one knee and propose." Poppy also cheekily made a joke that she prefers to call it "f**k me chicken" rather than "marry me".
To make the delightful recipe, you really do just need to "throw in" all the ingredients she listed in the caption of her TikTok video. First, of course, you'll need three skinless, boneless chicken breasts. Two tablespoons of tomato puree need to be added, along with 300ml double cream.
Half a garlic bulb can go in with the cloves peeled and crushed, 100g sun-dried tomatoes in oil, which need to be drained and chopped. Then you add 100ml of dry white wine , with 100g of grated parmesan, half a lemon, juiced, a small handful of flat-leaf parsley chopped up, and of course, it needs to be seasoned with salt and pepper.
When it all comes together, and it's been cooked, it looks delightful, and the chicken comes apart so easily. Poppy shared that she'd "designed these recipes so you can throw it all in", pitching her book at the end of the video, where there are many more slow cooker recipes to choose from.
In the comments, people wanted to try this delicious-looking meal, with one writing: "Got this in my slow cooker right now, smells divine, can't wait to try it later". Someone replied: "Did you put it on low or high? And how was it? I’ve got mine in the slow cooker now". "I did it on low for around 6.5 hours, it was delicious but quite rich, you will only need a small portion", they said.
Another shared: "Funny, I made Marry Me Chicken last night, and today I got my slow cooker out, and I'm making Beef and Red Wine Casserole with homemade bread".
