If a faux fur coat is top of your shopping list this winter, head to Marks & Spencer, as the high-street favourite has just dropped what is arguably the style of the season.

The Faux Fur Collared Longline Coat, £89, ticks the cosy, chic and classic boxes, making it a very worthy addition to your wardrobe at a very reasonable price. For less than £100, we think it looks much more expensive, and it's so timeless that it'll last you years to come.

This coat has a longline silhouette, making it the perfect glamorous cover-up for the Christmas period when you'll be heading out into the chilly night to meet friends for celebratory drinks. It's currently only available in a stylish beige colour, but we wouldn't be surprised to see a black or on-trend chocolate brown option drop soon.

If this hero coat looks familiar, you might recognise it from the new Marks & Spencer Christmas advert, in which a woman arrives at a party and dramatically throws it off. We'll definitely be wearing ours to upcoming festive events, but it's far too nice to lie on the floor, so we'll be hunting out the coat hooks...

Should you be after a short faux fur coat instead, Marks & Spencer has you covered there too. Or, at least, it did, before the viral Faux Fur Collared Short Coat, £79, flew off the shelves for a second time. Our advice is to pop in your email to be notified of its return, which feels inevitable given its popularity. The same goes for the Textured Buckle Coat, £75, which is also out of stock in all but one size.

Sienna Miller's Buckle Faux Fur Jacket, £89, however, is still available and taps into the burgundy trend that's everywhere right now. So is the shaggy Faux Fur Collarless Short Coat, £79, in grey, though the oxblood iteration has unfortunately gone. The lesson? If you love a Marks & Spencer coat, you've got to be quick!

In terms of how to style a faux fur coat, it's a great piece for dressing up or down. Either throw it over knitwear and jeans for a touch of 'mob wife' chic, or over Christmas party dresses for that 'she looks expensive' vibe.
