MAFS fans declare 'only reason to watch' show after emotional moment leaves them in tears
The current series of Married At First Sight UK is nearing its end, with final nights out and final vows to come and only four couples still in the experiment trying to make things work. On Wednesday 6 November, it was a chance for the remaining brides and grooms to have a last date together, and while Polly and Adam, Ross and Sacha, and Luke and Amy all went out and tried various activities including ice skating and a cookery lesson, it was Nathan and Lacey’s date that won the hearts of fans.
Nathan began by sweeping Lacey off her feet, taking her on a helicopter ride during which he intended to tell her he loved her for the first time. That plan was scuppered, however, when he felt sick on the helicopter and was still queasy when they landed. Happily, the couple did get the romantic moment everyone has been waiting for that evening, when Nathan took his bride to a romantic location and told her how he felt.
First, he presented her with a certificate showing he had bought a star and named it after her, which came with a romantic note that said: “Sometimes I feel like a distant star alone in the universe, when I feel the light of your affection I know that you’re here with me and when I look into your eyes I see the universe reflected.” He then told her he loved her, and she told him that she loved him back.

The emotional moment was a hit with fans. “Nathan and Lacey to the stars and back,” wrote one, while a second said: “The love between Lacey and Nathan is something we didn’t realise we needed.” Another added: “Nathan is setting the standards high this year, what a gent,” while a fourth commented: “ohhh Nathan and Lacey made me tear up.”
They are certainly a favourite with viewers, as one said: “Nathan has been the BEST most enjoyable thing to come from this season,” and another agreed by saying: “Aww Nathan and Lacey – the only redeeming couple of the entire series.” One more fan summed up a lot of people’s feelings: “I’m only watching for Nathan and Lacey, the rest I can’t be bothered with anymore.”
On the night before the date episode aired, Lacey posted her own thoughts on their journey to their final, sweet date. “Thank you all for supporting me and Nathan,” she wrote. “I am incredibly proud of Nathan and how far he has come from the wedding to finale dates. Nathan found the filming process really hard but I always stood by him, supported him and always had his back 100%.” She added: “Finale dates? Wow. I am so proud of US.”
